I wrote this blog post with Larisa Bukalov, my colleague at Bayside High School, for Larry Ferlazzo’s Classroom Q&A blog on the Education Week website. In this post, we discuss strategies that help all students learn, such as teaching pronunciation of symbols when they are beginning to learn, asking students to summarize when they are developing learners, and asking students to solve problems orally when they are more fluent in mathematical language.
